Update: we no longer use the D-Link to get this done. I can do it all with a USB drive (check ur ports USB-C or USB-A) or an SD card. Windows laptop still needed of course.

You LawPaul people who claim i use his modkit? Boys... he didnt do it first Early july 2024 it was done already, exact method (like video in motion SD script). Can prove it too. I had it before any public "commercial use banned" release. While timing is exact, its because i never paid attention to the video in motion script until he showed the Porsche release and on that same day, i ported all my Dlink/telnet scripts to SD card based on the exact method he has but i keep my own files based on the video in motion script. No theft...and no "SD card" selling. Files stay at the user if he wants to re-use or learn.
LawPaul did a great job tho.

Currently trying to update radio to current version of software but it asks to install from sd card. Do these not update over WiFi?

 

I know when I did it on my 2019 it was via SD card there was no WiFi option, maybe the latest models would do it but I'm not sure

@captain_k helped me with this. Works perfectly now thank you. Would highly recommend as some companies charging £200+ to do this. Now need to see if I can get the boot to close by remote with engine off. I've seen this done with audis via vcds or obdeleven. Anyone done this yet for their touareg?

 

@captain_k could you please help me as well with full screen CarPlay and make it wireless as well as you helped many others before me. I would appreciate that very much.

Everything went smooth, it works fine even with the chinese wireless android/carplay. Disney+, max, netflix, all work very good. Touareg 2019.

Got sent a few messages from LawPaul's community, claims that i am using his files and selling SD cards against his "commercial license"?

Simply gonna say a few facts:

1. The scripts for Touareg Fullscreen are my own doing (before that iprottoolkit, before this modkit, i did years of work over telnet on mib2 and mh2p radios)
2. I dont use his modkit, because the SD modkit was out already before LawPauls "release". It was made in the form of video in motion activation, early 2024, no licenses, nothing (can provide proof, july 2024 was first public free to use post for video in motion).
3. I saw his modkit, but i never paid attention to the video in motion one, saw they are exact same method (hmm?!?!) and ported my own scripts to the "video in motion" modkit, outcome is 98% same solution lol.
4. No one is selling SD cards here?
5. LawPaul (MH2p SD ModKit) did a lovely job for the community and made it very user friendly.

Do what you wish with that info.

No need to upgrade to version 2869 (to reduce risk)
Any version can directly activate full screen CarPlay and Android Auto

I did ask VW, from the dealer right back VW themselves, but they say it is not possible with the current software and it requires receivers to be able to transmit wirelessly which it hasn't got
