The warning came on that the coolant was overheating. I took it into the dealer yesterday and he called to say I need a new Thermometer and to do this the engine needs to be taken out = approx $800. Suggested too that I replace the timing belt (usually due at 80,000 and I am at 87,000) since the engine will be out anyway = $1800 total. I need to call back with an answer.
My question is the darn car has been a huge money pit, constant problems. I hear that is common for the 2004. Should I spend the money or throw in the towel and trade it in for a new car? I doubt I will get much for the trade in.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
