A Touareg isn't the only vehicle I have driven over my car owning time. Mid-size sedan, light truck, sportscar/muscle car, full-size pickup, and mid-size SUVs, plus the various vehicles for my wife. Never has one of my vehicles gotten anywhere near the wear bars. The closest I can claim to that was a CBR900RR (Fireblade for the Euros) that I let the OEM Bridgestone rear tire get to the cords before replacing. I didn't ride in the rain when it got to that point but otherwise it didn't give me any trouble. The cop, however, took issue with it.
