If you have air suspension that would be a hose that is missing. If not, the pump should be in the rear near the spare. The hose is expensive, mine was missing, so I bought a portable plug-in compressor.

Thanks for the info, but the Touareg is not air suspension. The pump is missing, and I like to purchase one.

If you don't have air suspension the only place the pump would be would be right beside the spare tire. The places you are reading about under the seat and such is the air line and the connection for the said air line if you have air suspension. The OEM one is not that great imo, you could probably do better buying a small aftermarket one and storing it in the spare tire area where the other one was.

I don't get while people take things out and then don't put them back after they get rid of the car. Like all the classified ads you see for rear cargo covers. Just put it back in when you sell or trade it. Makes no sense to me.

You beat me to the punch.

I do NOT get this either.

I've bought two older cars over the last couple of years, and neither one of them has a complete spare tire "kit". One has NOTHING. No spare. No jack. No nothing. The other one has a jack, and jack handle, but that's useless if you don't have a spare!!!

Why is this crap OUT OF THE CAR!?!?!?! Did you lose it on the side of the road, or what????

Of course, neither one has an owner's manual, which I don't understand either. OK. You took it inside to read it. Fine. I did that too. PUT THE WRETCHED THING BACK IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL PLACE WHEN YOU'RE DONE READING IT?!?!?!?

ARGH!!!!! kaboom

...and in this case the OP might as well not have a spare, a jack, or a jack handle. Those items are 100% worthless without a means to air up the spare tire. what gives, people?????

You are absolutely correct...
Well it gets better. I bought the car at a dealer (name with held). The person who sold the car to the dealer, is now selling the tire pump for $ 100 on the Internet. $&@-/:; is all I can say. I traced the person thru reverse telephone number and the home address on the car nav.

DAMN!!! That's ballsy right there!

I think that armed with this information, I'd go back to the dealer, and demand that they BUY this from the dude, and give it to you.

Do dealers not HAVE to supply this type of safety equipment?

Another point, did the dealer tell you that it WAS missing BEFORE you bought the vehicle, or did YOU find out? Because if I were the one that found out, and the dealer did NOT tell me, I'd be back there climbing down someone's throat!

This is CRAZY!!!

Sorry we can't help ya brother.... :(
