I have an 05 4.2 and there are no videos or anything that I could find that show how to set the timing when replacing the timing belt. The only video I could find drug on and was vague on how to do this. The timing belt broke while my wife was driving so now that I know what the issue is I need to know how to set the timing. Any help would be great thanks.

I cannot help with setting the timing but I have always understood this engine would have the valves hammering the pistons if the timing belt broke and be fubarred as a consequence.

You are the first person to post that their timing belt has actually gone.

Can you confirm the engine is still sound?

The engine turns over and crank and cam gears all turn. It's not "noisy" when it turns over. So without pulling off the head to see I would assume so.
