Has anyone mounted a Thule Evolution 1600 XT to 2004 OEM crossbars? Maybe I am misunderstanding, but it looks like they only lock in at certain intervals. The problem is that those intervals don't line up with the holes in the bottom of the Thule Evolution rooftop carrier. Has anyone experienced this? Do I drill new holes?

Has anyone mounted a Thule Evolution 1600 XT to 2004 OEM crossbars? Maybe I am misunderstanding, but it looks like they only lock in at certain intervals. The problem is that those intervals don't line up with the holes in the bottom of the Thule Evolution rooftop carrier. Has anyone experienced this? Do I drill new holes?

I drilled two new holes in the bottom front of the carrier at the same spacing as the rest of the holes. This allowed it to fit the spacing of the stock crossbars perfectly with the supplied mounting hardware.

I ordered four T bolts to fit into the "aero" T slots of the stock crossbars to eliminate the ugly exposed mounting carriage bolts it came with.
