Keep in mind that with a TDI you're also going to need to use it on highways for at least an hour or a bit more so the system can do a regen of the DPF. They also don't like to have the AdBlue just sit in the tank without being used as it can crystalize causing problems.

 

Greetings. The T3 can tow up to 7,000 lbs, so yes, IMO the T3 TDI would work fine for what you're looking for. If there are maintenance records available, I would check transmission fluid drain/fill intervals. I believe it's a 40k mile service. Good luck!

 

Thanks for the advice hopefully I can make up my mind soon also I’m reading a lot about injectors and ACC going pear shaped around the 125k - 150k mark ?

 

Yes the ACC can go "Pear Shaped" as you called it along with the camera module in the rear view mirror.
One reason I'm glad my '11 doesn't have those.
The newer year you go the more nanny controls there are to fail.

 

I know for the gassers VW says to use Top Tier fuel. Is it the same for diesel, is it even such a thing?
