Pulled the trigger and went with Ceika. Sport Low series with Sport rates and valving. Helper springs, 30 paired adjustment (bound and rebound together). 16kg front, 12kg rear because it was recommended for towing. Initial quality looks very good. Proof is in the pudding though. I'll hopefully take some pictures during install and provide feedback on ride and height etc. Wish me luck.

Nice! How does it ride
So still early days. Just hit 24hrs old. What I can say is that the setup I picked rides quite well. Certainly no worse than stock r-line "sport" suspension. I'm still dialing in the dampening and ride height to be honest. There is a lot of camber in the rear at this height so I haven't settled on a height yet. But even at the height its at, I have over an inch in the coils left for lowering. If anything I'd go higher by 10mm but thats just my preference. The body control is where the biggest gains have been. It corners flat now. Very impressive for a 4900+lb vehicle. Also the dive and squat under braking and acceleration are all but gone. I will give more of an update in a bit. Have a trip coming up so we'll see how it behaves. I will have to dial out the rear camber though and no I haven't done an alignment yet. Still tracks true so toe hasn't really changed. If anyone has questions either post them here or DM me.

holly ****, this is what I want!!!

if you don't mind, how much were they? I am in Canada too (Montreal, QC)
I believe they were roughly $1800. But you can go cheaper. My specific setup had some extras like dual springs etc. And it will take at minimum a month to get them. It took 19 days to build them to my spec.

thanks a lot. So Sport valving, sport low ride height & dual springs (front and back?).

Following your thread with GREAT interest, our ride are very similar (TDI, R-line, white) and I am aiming for similar height.

great looking wheels BTW

You can contact them and tell them exactly what you were looking for and they will tell you exactly what settings and springs and valving they should use

Ok so I went back over the email to make sure what I specced. The valving was sport. The ride height was actually extra low, the front springs are 16kg and the rears 12kg. Dual springs front and rear. No upper mounts (pillow ball). Ordered 2 remote knobs in the 327mm length. I would change then to the shortest 227mm length. Mine are too long and I may change them also I may order a 3rd for the passenger side as it sits under the fuel filter but buyer beware I haven't confirmed it would fit there yet. Its height limited under the filter housing. I may have to get custom and add spacers to the housing.

This is the rear upper shock stock cover. You will reuse the stock aluminum upper mount assembly. I drilled a hole in the cover to being the dampening adjustment cable through the cover. Inside the boot or hatch of the Touareg is a body plug that I drilled out that it right above the center of the shock. But as you can see in the pictures the rod is too long. I would say go with the 227mm rod as it should be near perfect.

Overall the install was very easy..much easier than my Sons MK6 GLI Coilovers from H&R. It took us roughly 8 hours but we were doddling. I would recommend help for parts of the process. Removal of the fronts could be done along but not the install. Unless you have long arms and good strength, you can't put the top nuts on while holding the strut. You could put the bottom bolt through the control arm and then jack the assembly up into the holes if you're doing it yourself. But there is the sway bar links which are under tension that are the most annoying part of the process. Same for the rears but it would be a PITA doing it yourself. Also there is almost no spring tension on the rear strut. I didnt have to compress them to remove the top mounts. But use caution obviously with your setup. Also as I said before you will have a lot of negative camber in the rear at this height. I'm not sure how much an alignment would take out. I'll update the thread over the coming weeks regarding that.

OMG my B12 kit should be here tomorrow or so! I'll get new OEM rear top plate as well. The front don't have bearings, only some kind of spacers that can be re-used. My rear top plate are fine at the moment, but I would be out of this world annoyed if they would be to start squeaking after the shocks replacement
