Thank you for your input. I do think this is the way to go. I was reviewing the different ways to run the wire and I would agree with you that the floor is the best option.

Yes, the Hybrid did come with the RNS850 and Parking Distance.

Thanks!

It should be wrong connection of LVDS wire. There are several pics on the product page show you how to connect the LVDS plugs: Volkswagen Touareg 2011-2017 backup Camera System
Just installed the CarNav camea! Camera works but no video on monitor you can't see radio navigation and ideas??? Must have some wires crossed. Unit came with no installation which I find very poor!

Allen - Can you provide any detail on what the symptom would be for various failure scenarios? Thursday morning the camera worked when parking the car for the work day, that evening the camera did not work and hasn't since. The park distance grid is on the screen, but the video is black. I'm wondering whether the loss of video is different if either loss of power to the camera or loss of the video signal so I can narrow down where to troubleshoot.

Thanks.

@Bmansmitty, please measure the voltage of the short wire with label "CCD+12V OUT" as shown in below photo.
If it has +12-14V output, but no camera image, it should be
1. The backup camera does not get power or the camera does not send image to the interface. Please check the red power wire of camera and the yellow RCA connection.
2. If the connections are OK. It should be the camera is damaged.
If it does not have +12-14V output, it should be the interface box output module is damaged cause it does not provide power to the camera.
Please send your order number to [email protected] for warranty.

Hello everyone,
I've read through this thread and am a little confused on if any of the systems will work without the PDC. My wife's 2011 Touareg doesn't have it.
Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, 2011 without PDC. According to this thread the only option is to use the Kufatec system which is quite pricey. https://www.kufatec.de/shop/en/volkswagen/touareg/7p/rear-view-camera-retrofit-vw-tourag-7p

I've always wondered if the Carnaviplayer camera would work on the non-PDC cars by utilizing the coding dongle from Kufatec to enable the screen.

Guys, I realize this is an older thread but I need some help. I am considering buying the carnaviplayer setup but I wanted to make sure I have the CAN bus connector. I have a US Spec, 2012 Executive TDI, and it definitely has the parking sensors (optical parking system). I spent 1/2 an hour digging around under the steering wheel looking for the PDC module which should be just above the fuse box. I am not seeing anything. Is there any chance this PDC module is somewhere else? I was going to take apart the glovebox side next but wanted to ask first. The photos show the connector popping out by the fuse box but even after removing the two fuse box torx bolts and moving it out of the way I don't see any control modules in there.

Nevermind... I found it!!! Its really up behind there. I look forward to trying this install and thanks to all those who provided such a good thread.

Installed the system last week. My thanks to all who have provided assistance through the forum to make this install very easy. Well, not very easy but certainly with less drama due to all the constructive input you guys provide. I also ran the camera cable along with the Driver side rocker trim as recommended, thanks for that as well!
Camera quality is very good, The grid lines do not move when you are turning/moving in reverse as well as previously commented on, I will get used to it.
Thanks again everyone.

Just got mine, started the install but realized I dont have the same camera/wiring as everyone else. Assuming I got the wrong kit or an audi kit? Just contacted customer support so hopefully they can rectify this and help me out.

Edit: Appears this is just the newer kit that now comes with RCA connections. Thanks to Allen for a quick response to my email! Unfortunately the rca end is a bear to get through into the cabin and even after lubing up the cable it broke on me :(. Hopefully Allen can help out.

Just installed the Carnaviplayer Backup Camera in my wife's 2012 Touraeg diesel. Works good and the fence lines do curve when the steering wheel is turned. Thanks to all who have written on this forum. William
Did you install the camera wiring on the driver's side or passenger side? I found just laying out the wiring that the driver's side would be a bit tight on length. Regardless, I bought a 10M harness to make sure I have more than enough wiring to hook it up.

Edit: I see you went passenger side with the included harness.

I just ran a new harness I got off amazon through the tailgate and into the cabin and didn't break it this time. The aftermarket harnesses are tight but with 10 meters of wiring, it will allow me to run on the drivers side without issue. I tested it and it works great, guide lines move with the wheel as well.

I have a 2012 tdi lux and had a few questions regarding installing the carNAVI kit.

1: Has anyone installed one of these and a joyauto carplay kit?
2: My nav unit already has the lvds cable installed, could I just need the camera?
3: I would like the more factory look camera for function and aesthetics, I would prefer to not use the joyauto as the source for the camera as it sometimes locks up, with that being said am I asking to upgrade too many options?

Hello, Has anyone installed the entire OEM system wiring? We ran all the OEM wires to the front of the vehicle (pass side), via headliner. We did not feel splicing would be the appropriate thing to do, and have one last question.

I can not find the appropriate location for the wires in the attached photo. Understanding one can spice the trailer hitch wires in the trunk but, where are they originally coming from as I would like to keep all the OEM clips and plugs in place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
