Hello everyone! I know this has been discussed, but in searching around, only one option has come up. My only issue with that option is the Chinese product gamble....who knows the level of quality on any given order...could be great, but then they may not even fit :) Regulation, if only it could be intelligent, has its place in the world folks :)
I have seen these on the website and on Ebay... Scuff Plate Door Sill Sills Guards for VW Touareg 2011 2012 | eBay

That being said, has anyone had any luck finding OEM door sill upgrades for T3? Other countries get them as a factory option, but it seems that VW thinks Americans don't like shiny things at their feet as much as a few extra shinys in our pockets. (We have to order the pedal upgrades too, but I ordered those as soon as I bought the Treg)

I haven't seen anything yet but am interested.

Where did you get your pedal upgrade? I would be interested in that as well.

This is what I exactly bought and installed. Just plug and play. Used a plastic knife to extract the plastic scuff plate and just installed the stainless steel one.

The Hybrid has the stainless door sills plates. I'm sure they can be ordered but likely very pricey. I have the ones from eBay. Exact fit but the fronts say 'Touareg.'

I love the pedals, too. Pics in my gallery.

That's a good website, another parts website is always good to have.

Anyone know if the OEM front door sills say anything on them, like "Toaureg"?

What's even crazier is your link has the black plastic front ones for $90 something each. The eBay ones I have are great and probably made on the same assembly line, third shift.

Laith - No, the Exec doesn't come with any of these pedals, the Hybrid version though does come standard with the two main ones but I found the best price for the Gas and Brake Pedals at:

VolkswagenPartsPeople.com - Genuine Volkswagen Parts and Volkswagen Accessories

The [VW] part numbers are as follows:

Gas/Throttle: 3D1-723-173-A $30.78
Brake Pedal: 7L6-721-647-A $25.77

You can purchase the Dead Pedal directly from Rennline at:

Rennline Dead pedal - factory look - Cayenne Touareg-Rennline, Inc.

Hope this helps?

This is where I bought my OEM pedal upgrades, from this forum...

I also got the deadpedal from the website from the rofum, rennline, very high quality part.

OEM sills are blank for the Hybrid. The R-Line in Europe has 'R-Line' on it.

Yeah, very pricey, but they look great. Fro, what I have heard, there are none available for T3, anyone seen the illuminated for T3?

See pics in my gallery. I bought those on eBay. I really want the OEM ones found on the Hybrid but the cost is ridiculous.

Which ones did you purchase?

That sucks. I got exactly what is shown in the eBay pic.

The seller shipped a stainless replacement today, so here's hoping that's the end of that.

@xylene, In all honesty the chrome piece is a little substandard. There are a couple small scratches in it, and the "TOUAREG" stamping isn't very good. I'd describe it as the letters are not crisp. The stainless pieces are better. But if you're still interested in it, PM me.

Just got mine today. Took me 5 minutes to open the box it had so much packing tape around it. Then another 5 minutes to get all the protective tape off the plates. Then 15 seconds each to install. Look pretty good for the price but I agree that the letters should be more defined.

Man it is near impossible to find good door sills upgrade for the T3.. especially the illuminated ones for both front and back.

Used to love those on my old car.. Anyone having any luck so far? I find it very interesting how it's been 3-4 years already on the T3 and yet there isn't any..
