Hello. Does anyone know if this 12V cigarette lighter in the far back/tailgate (see images) is always on or does it shut off like the ones in the front?

If only there was some sort of device that would plug into such a receptacle.... you could probably use it to solve this mystery!

It works when ignition is ON.
The correct answer is "it depends".
You need to know the exact model you're asking about so that you can look up the wiring diagrams.
For example (note terminal 15 vs 30.... last column)
