IMO, for black Touareg, the lower center chrome makes the car look narrower than it is. Paint that first, you can probably leave the upper center grill factory, the car should look wider.

Agreed on the lower grille, have not got to that yet......Hate Chrome!

I blacked out the lower grille chrome on my recently acquired 2016 Treg Lux. Thought about doing the upper grille but with the emblem and the chrome in the headlights I decided to leave it as is.

I am with you. I have a black '14. Debating about blacking out the chrome or just tinting it. Black it out with a peel away paint or tint the chrome with spray tint. Still trying to decide.

I like the blacked out chrome. Not a fan of chrome so I brushed/sanded mine to give it a brushed/matte look. Doesnt come out as nice in the pics but it's definitely a noticeable difference. Did all the trim that way

also planning to black out the door handles, the roof and rear chrome badges
