T2 Touareg standard steel suspension to air suspension swap.

Greetings all who wander here.
I have a big project on hand which I would like to proceed with.
I have a 2009 T2 v6 touareg with standard suspension and another 2006 T1 v6 treg with air suspension and rear axle locking differential. What I would like to do is swap the air suspension from the T1 to the T2. I know that it requires basically pulling the entire car apart for the labyrinth of wiring and piping to be removed. I have a workshop so I have all the necessary tools and equipment to do everything necessary. I also know that I'll have to change the coding in all the necessary modules such as engine ecm, instrument cluster, CAN gateway, ABS plus adding the level module and changing the CAN network to read the level module. What I would like to know is that whether it would all be compatible because I'm using the level control module from an older generation. I can deal with the wiring even if it requires pulling wires out of connectors as I have the tools to depin electrical connectors.
I also know that many members here would suggest to use the T1 as is but I can't do that because the windshield is broken and also I need the front end(headlights, fenders, bumper brackets intercooler, grill) for my T1 V10 as it was in a front end collision. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard of it being done, good luck. Way beyond what Id do. Been spending the last few days balls deep in the wiring diagram, and you'd have a lot of places to splice in a connection. Also the headlights connect with the leveling system I think in J519, along with some other funky stuff

Good luck, if you do it, you should do a good write up on here.

Once I start I will definitely document everything and post it in this thread.
As far as I know I don't think there's any additional wiring for the level control system in the headlights.
Just have to change the coding but I'm not 100% on this so yes I will confirm. Also the coding for abs and engine module changes.
The only part that I'm finding a little tricky while thinking about it is the second battery. It functions as the starter battery. I don't know what the swap is going to be for that.
There is a post where a member has done the air suspension OEM swap for his T3 but he doesn't mention anything about adding the second battery or headlight wiring.
Luckily I have a fully intact donor car (T1) so I can yank stuff from it. If I have to I'll swap out the entire harness except the transmission and engine bits.
The T1 also has the rear diff lock and paddle shifters. So I'll be moving them over to my T2 as well.
