Anyone ever done this?

Main reason is the little short stubby T2 filter is hard to get out, and every time that middle part un-snaps from the filter housing. Pressing that spring down and lining the clips up has left permanent marks on my palm.

Also my cost on a
Mann filter for T2 is $47.53
T3 Mahle is $28

I changed the fuel filter on my 2010 a couple of days ago. It was simple and took me about 15 minutes total. The old filter came out fairly easily. Not sure why you'd go to all the trouble of changing the filter housing, etc.

Do you have the one with the handle on the filter? Mine is always stuck, even after just putting a new one on and trying to take it off the middle piece come off and it's a pain in the ass to press back down.
