Since winter just started, I thought I would start working on my summer setup. :)

I happened to find a set of 20" Audi wheels that I liked for a good price so I grabbed them.

Then I brought them straight to here...
Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists of Eastern Massachusetts

And they are going to make them look like this but with black on the inside...

Then I found these for sale on Tirerack.com and color me excited because I have them on my '06 summer wheels and love them...

The tires are 275/45R20 which is a little taller than the 275/40R20 that come on the other stock 20" Touareg wheels. But, it seems to match better overall with my existing 19" Everest (which I'm selling if anyone is interested) when I use this site to calculate...

The Grabber UHP is an old design now.

They were used by the Touareg demonstation team in the UK for both off-road and race track demos and were a competent tire.

I had them as a result, but they started droning badly at about 2/3rds wear.

As I replace tires at 50% tread depth the drone soon went!

I agree they can be fairly loud. But I like the tread design and they handle great. Plus, according to you, I seem to relish in old designs like my Hybrid. ;)

Thing is they shouldn't be loud at all - there's no excuse for that and the drone was very wearing..

The Michelin Latitude Cross I replaced them with were far better in every single way - quieter, more comfortable, better on and off road grip and braking and longer lasting.

Mounted. Really wish I had paid attention when I bought the TPMS sensors. Need to paint them black I guess and then get black lugs or covers.
