You have two MFI memories - short term, and long term. The short term (display 1- indicated in the MFI) resets itself when the ignition has been off for an hour or more. Long term (display 2) keeps everything until reset manually.

Either memory can be cleared by pressing and holding the thumbwheel for a few seconds. I usually select the accumulated mpg display, ensure it's on the long term memory (2 is displayed), then press and hold the thumbwheel. The mpg display will change to show "-----" when it has been reset.

I'm pretty sure this is in the owners manual, but since the manual is so poorly written, I guess I can understand why you can't figure it out.

ok....

This will reset the milage near the odometer correct. I have the milage displayed twice at the bottom of the MFI...how do I reset that? Thanks!

What I described above will reset the milage in the MFI (trip computer). To reset the milage by the odometer, there is a button next to the odometer display. Press and hold this button to reset.

Haha! I thought the gauges were behind clear plastic like on my A4.....I feel stupid! Thanks for the help

Did the same thing yesterday. :wave:
couldn't figure out the darn little button was reachable.
