This may sound like a wee thing but it's really annoying me. There's a rattle on my new V6 Treg that seems to emanate from the steering column area under the dash and transfer up to the dash itself. It's most pronounced at idle and when the tranmsmission is engaged.

Any ideas. I've given up on the dealership - they said it was from the throttle pedal - and that they tightened it. No help.

Thanks guys.

Yep - I have it, too.

I got used to it real quick. I don't feel (personally) a need to let them tear apart the dash trying to fix it, so I just ignored it. I don't hear it anymore unless I try hard.

Hey guys,

I had the same issue and the dealer kept the car for 2 weeks in order to fix it. They told me they put padding along the high pressure fuel line and the steering column. It seems to have fixed it for the last 3 months, however I hear it coming back slightly. My feeling is that the car should vibrate at all. it's not even a year old yet. I'm going to make them fix everything!

Dash Rattle

I only had my T-Reg for a week now and notice the rattling sound coming from under the dash when the car is stopped and in Drive. I was able to fix the problem by taking a 1/4 inch foam block and wedge it between the air return and plastic wall located right beside it. This area is right above the gas pedal. The next time you hear it reach under and push the plastic returns. That should fix your problem.

Now I need to move on to the rattle that comes from the passenger's front wheel. This one is drive-train so my VW dealership will probably have to fix it.
