my 04, V8 with 100K miles recently started having trouble starting. Turning the ignition over, the car will struggle to start for about 3-4 seconds, will than eventually turn over/start for about a half second than sputters out/stalls. If I give it gas and rev the engine once it starts, it will remain running but only at high rpms. Often times if I let it sit for a little while or over night it will than start up just fine and run just fine; the vehicle runs just fine when it starts correctly.
So with the above behavior, yesterday I had both fuel pumps replaced along with the fuel filter only to have the vehicle behave the same as above this morning and now it sits in my driveway out of commission.
I've read where owners talk about stalling problems 30-40 seconds into turning the vehicle on, but again my behavior is right upon attempting to start the vehicle.
Would love any insight/suggestions to my reg's problem. Love my rig but makes me nervous pumping dollars into it.
