Show me your aftermarket wheels! :)

I’ve got a 2016 Executive (charcoal gray) and am loving this vehicle. It has 21” factory wheels on it (I believe), and while they’re not bad at all, I’m looking at possibly changing out for some quality aftermarket wheels in the same size. A lot of the threads here have pictures no longer available, dead links, etc so would really appreciate seeing what all you guys and gals have on yours!

I was looking at rims at the same time I was searching for a Treg - lol! Now I've purchased the Treg with the 21" optional "Mallory" wheels and they are really growing on me!

How did you lower it (what springs/coilovers)?
Real talk, what's the ride like?

There’s a product called plasti dip. You can get it from dip my car.com, he has videos on how to do it and many different colors. The best part about it, if you want to change it, you just peel it off.
I was thinking about trying it on my factory wheels to use in the winter

BC coils. They are Cayenne/Touareg specific. Ride is amazing on smooth highways. I won't lie its stiff but I like that. I've come from sport sedans so I'm used to that. With the winter setup on factory 19"s it's better, mainly because of the increased sidwall. With summers and coils your gonna want to slalom the potholes and manholes, but again I'm used to it. All in all it's totally worth the firm ride and navigation of road hazards for the look and road mannars I get in return. Wouldn't go back to factory.

Pic from last summer - 21" Mallory's on a 2013 Exec. Not aftermarket, but worth showing and they weren't available in 2013.

I used Plasti Dip on my winter Audi rims. These rims were rashed up, so I filled in the deep scratches with Bondo, sanded them and used Plasti Dip black for primer (4 coats), and then Plasti Dip Silver Metalizer (6 coats).

My first time doing Plasti Dip on wheels, so I'd give my results a 7/10. My mistake was that I did the spraying in 14 Celsius weather without heating the Plasti Dip cans. Because the product really clumps below 22 C, the finish didn't wet out as smooth as I wanted. VIGOROUS RECOMMENDATION: heat your Plasti Dip cans in a bucket of very warm water, and do the spraying when it is at least 18 Celsius ambient temperature.

I'm thinking I will peel this dip off over them summer, and redo them with a different dip color for next winter. Maybe a gunmetal color.

@ iamcanadian783,
I
have the same rims, just curious where you found the VW centre caps for them as they are an odd size and I couldn't find any genuine VW caps to fit so had to go with plain caps.

It’s a little stiff but it is a 2012, so the ride isn’t as good as a 2020.
