Thanks Steve_L they still have the car and they have give me a courtesy car I have it two weeks now they acknowledge there was Bluetooth in the car when I left it in as the technician seen it but they are having trouble getting it back one of the service guys rang me yesterday saying they contacted VW uk tech and were told when the car was new it didn't come with Bluetooth tel connection it's very confusing as its build into the car with phone buttons on the steering wheel and the rns 850 unit with all contacts dialed and previous calls on the mdi and the rns850
Not having had any personal expeirence in updating the firmware for the RNS850, my only suggestion is this:
Seeing that the blue-tooth module was working and existing when the vehicle went in 9for whatever problem/rectification), a feature that was provide din the ORIGINAL build spec of the car is now non-existent or not working.
Remedy? The service shop fixes it...or replaces the unit to ensure that you receive the vehicle back with the same equipment features that were OEM spec when you handed the vehicle to the service shop.
Thankyou Steve_L for your reply they said they will get back to me this week I will let you no what they say thanks again for your helpful interest its giving me some hope because one of the service guys rang me last week and said he doesn't think they can get it back and when I said I need it back his reply was what more do you want us to do he said his manager was back in on Monday and he does not think there's much more they can do he wasn't very nice about it he's been the only one as the rest were polite and helpful and were telling me not to worry they will sort it
