Hello everyone, just found this section and wanted to say hi.

I bought an 05 V8 TReg last month and love this vehicle.

Any one near San Antonio sometime hit me up.

Hey, I just bought an 05 V8 myself. I also love it. I'm in Converse.

We're in League City, in Galveston County. Bought our 06 V-6 in January with 33,000 miles on it. Very comfortable vehicle, no complaints yet.

04 maybe 08

san antonio boy w/ 04 V8 since 06. have driven 77,000 miles and until recently have enjoyed very much. Local dealer is great. Having concerns on the cost of things they find at each oil change. Costing much more than the oil change. Thinking of moving up to an 08 Touareg2 model and another V8 model. What you think? Truly enjoy driving this every where and I do mean every where. 04 now has 110,000 miles and still new, but need to go under the VW protection plan. If anyone interested just let me know.

V8 vs TDI

I just traded my 05 V8 with 113,000 miles on it for a 12 TDI. My MPG on the 05 was always about 15-16mpg. The TDI is getting 27-29! I am really impressed so far! Rod East always gave me great service and I hope they retain their service writers and mechanics in the ownership change. That said, the new North Park VW will likely be good, as far as I know from experience with Kahlig dealerships.

Yeah, I just found out about the name change when I called. I too have had great service from them up to this point. Fortunately that was all covered under the extended warranty. I'm on my own now :( Let's hope nothing happens for a while. I just had the front windows tinted with the Lumar exact match tint and it looks great. $89.00 with military discount at A-1 Window coverings in Universal City.

Oil Change

Hello everybody

Any suggestions on where to get an oil change at a reasonable price on a Saturday besides the dealership? I have gone to Autobahn and they are good and almost $50 cheaper than the dealership but they are not open on Saturday.

Hi, I don't have an answer to your question but I appreciate the info on Autobahn. I didn't know that they do the oil change for $50.00 less. I'll keep that in mind for future oil changes. Thanks.

Mileage on 2012 TDI

Paul- I must admit I drove the 05 V8 very hard and fast, as I really liked the power. I have been a little more judicious with the gas (diesel!) pedal on the new one and kinda seeing what I can milk out of it. Drove in from Boerne to SATX yesterday and managed 30 round trip, but probably kept my speed in the 70-73 range.

Rex- the Jiffy Lube across from my office here in Boerne did my oil change on my 05 V8 several times for a lot less than the dealership. They did encounter some problems removing the oil plug AFTER I had the oil change done at Rod East (2 times) as they said the dealership had torqued it so high, they were afraid to strip it! I wasn't happy to hear that and went to the dealership to have them do it and requested a reduced price, which I received.

Broker, glad to see another Boerne Tregger on this forum. I'll keep an eye put for your rig. My wife and I both drive Touaregs. Keep your eye out for a white V8 and a Silver V10. See's easy to spot. Look for the giant LSU sticker on the back. I keep some Touareg rally stickers on mine. ;) I recently took the V10 into a local shop, Boerne Auto Imports on North Main. Can't comment much on price, but the did the Job a-OK and replaced brakes on the rear with parts I supplied.

thread necro

Hey all! I've been a member of the site for awhile, but I'm usually just a lurker.

I'm performing some thread necromancy here.

I'm in Cibolo not too far from RAFB off FM1103.

Mine's a silver 2013 TDI. Bought new at former Rod East, now VW of Alamo Heights. Their new building is pretty nice.

I see another Treg near my neighborhood usually parked on the street. It's a V6 model. Other than that, I don't see many in my area.

I wish they would hurry up and decide what's going to happen regarding deiselgate.

See y'all on the road!
