I have a 2005 V6 Touareg, and I figured it was time to change out the differential oil and transfer case since I'm around 90k miles, and I don't believe it has been done based on my prior service records yet.
I was looking into many different options and settled on going with Royal Purple fluids this time, mostly due to availability and price in my area. Initially I had thought about going with Amsoil but the nearest dealer is a ways out.
Anyway, I emailed RP's support and they offered the following suggestions for fluid replacement. So I figured I'd post them in here.

For your 2005 VW Touareg 3.2L V6 we recommend the following:
Engine: Royal Purple SAE 5W-30(part #01530, quart bottle) or Royal Purple SAE 5W-40(part #01540, quart bottle);
Or for an even more significant upgrade in performance and protection Royal Purple HPS 5W-30 (part #31530, quart bottle) or Royal Purple HPS 10W-40 (part #31140, quart bottle); 6.7 quarts- 3.2L V6;
Auto Trans: Royal Purple Max ATF (part #01320, quart bottle); 9.5 quarts on a complete dry fill;
Final Drive Front: Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 (part # 01300, quart bottle); 1.05 quarts;
(w/auto trans only)
Final Drive Rear: Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 (part # 01300, quart bottle); 1.05 quarts;
Transfer Case: Royal Purple Synchromax (part #01512, quart bottle); 0.85 quarts;
(Max ATF will work but Synchromax offers a higher level of protection in your transfer case and as such is our primary recommendation);
Power Steering: Royal Purple Max EZ (part #01326, 12-oz bottle);
Thanks for choosing Royal Purple and have a great day!
