Thanks for the link, do you know if the firmware fixes the Bluetooth issue for the models that also have a slim slot?

 

I hope so, but I believe that VW doesn't think of it as an issue needing fixing.

I had to extract the files on a Windows computer (used WinRar), they would not extract without corruption on Mac (a known bug).

The FW installed right away.

Had to use "User Defined" to install the maps, currently installing now. Selected "VW_ECE", "Navi Persistence", "MapStyles" and "TMCConfig". Into each subfolder and selected "Application" on each and everyone.

 

Did you check to see if the bluetooth issue is still present?

What improvements does the new firmware add?

 

Just a thing to note here, the firmware upgraded is in the zip file, because in the two links there is the same content.

 

Maps installed correctly on first attempt in "User Defined" mode.

Can't find a change log, and could not see any obvious differences.

Didn't check bluetooth yet, need some more time in the car.

 

What does it mean User defined mode? Sorry for the noob question.

Is this Green Menu and Red Menu stuff something on European Tregs?

I don't see it on my 2016 U.S. TDI.

You have to activate the green menu via vcds.
Once it is activated you access it by pressing set up and car together for a few seconds while the ignition is on. To get out of it you will have to reboot the rns pressing phone climate center knob nav traffic all at once.
The green menu will let you enable and tweak some features of your T. Search in the forum, there is plenty of info available.

The green menu is already activated in the linked firmware.

Bluetooth and sim is still not friends.

Had to use the linked “fix” to activate the maps.

 

@iSagem, I see a package that has around 1GB what does that do? Is that the firmware update?

Are you sure the green menu isn’t working? Can you confirm the installation of the firmware was successful?

I had to wait a few minutes after first reboot to get it working, and it’s always a little tricky with a slight delay between pressing the two buttons.

Hi,

#1 Updated FW successfully
#2 Updated maps successfully. Confirmed updated and visible for a minut or two until "Not activated" message pops-up
#3 .sh and script and Utils folder on newly formatted 32Gb SD (same as used for Step #1), but unable to get the script/activation running.

Any ideas on what I might be missing here ?

Tested with enabling Wlan in Green menu
Tested to have the SD in slot1/slot2 already when car and RNS850 starts
Tested to insert SD in slot1/slot2 a few minutes after car and RNS850 is started
Tested via software upgrade menu
And also tested via Media menu

I have the same problem. I installed RNS maps v.12 but I am failing to activate the maps. I am not able to access the activator that you are referring to. If I try to access the link you referred to it's not in English so I can't understand what's being said. Could you please kindly assist. Thank you.

 

Can I use the version of maps and firmware linked in this thread for the USA? I have a 2012 Touareg TDI in California.

I have a Touareg and never updated anything in it.
I cannot connect my phone with the system that’s why I want to update it.

nvm, in the txt file, it is for EU, So I dont want trouble. I'll put NA instead 822

The SD card is in Fat32 format, not exfat. I checked it when I copied firmware files.
