Not a bad price but do they actually have any? If not when will they be in?

I have been waiting for over a month now and even the dealer does not know when they will be in.

 

I only talked to the guy this weekend but I assume they have them sitting in a warehouse or something because he was really excited by the prospect of moving them... I just sent another email to confirm that they are in...

 

Hey, I called them today and was quoted $2600 plus shipping opposed to $2300 on the website. Then need the adapter for 1.6 - 2.0. He said he had one sitting in front of him that he had ordered for someone. He said it takes 2-4 weeks to get them. if you can get a deal around 1,700 I might be in. Let us know what you find out.

 

What's included for the $1.7K?

 

not sure on the unit for 1,700 range. the one for 2,600 included

from the website.

Kit includes navigation unit, radio code, manual, GPS antenna, FAKRA antenna adaptor and pre-loaded maps.

 

I have the 04 with CD Nav, I know i will need the can bus adapter, but will I need anything else? Ie. will i have problems with the amp after adding the RNS510.

Anybody know?
P.S. I have read a lot on this subject just can't remember seeing anything about adding this unit and the amp situation on the 04 with CD nav.

Just heard back from OEM PLUS. It would take 2-3 weeks to get them in from the date of the bulk order. The guy is working on a number of units we would need to buy in order to receive the price of $1750 per unit. (I expect we need to buy 20) From my understanding this price includes whatever is included on their site under the $2600 price.

I would probably do it for $1750. Keep us in the loop. I too have a 2006 and thus would need the CAN-BUS adapter I believe... Can someone confirm?

 

AFAIK, yes. For T2s it's "plug n play". Where's the other "group buy"?

 

Keep in mind that there is already a group buy post out there. In any event 20 units may be a stretch but If you can get Josh down to 10 units you may have a chance.

I know myself and another who have orders pending with the dealer. While I cant speak for him I would say there is a good change we would both be in if you can get it done soon.

BAD NEWS...

The price I was quoted, and what I have shared with you all is completely wrong... I asked for the best price that could be done for a bulk buy purchase and I was quote $1750 (which is what I shared with you all.) I just got a revised pricing sheet from someone else at OEMPLUS, the prices are as follows:

1 - 4 units $2200 each
5 - 9 units $2000 each
10 - 14 units $1900 each
15 - 19 units $1800 each
20+ units $1775 each

Right now I have 5 people confirmed buyers which means that we (and the next few people to join in) would have to pay $2000 for the RNS510 module. If we could get 5 more people to join we could get it down to $1900...

 

So how would this work? Lets say we have 5 on board, will OEM except 5 individual payments and then ship a unit to each buyer once they come in?

 

OEMPLUS just sent me the email.... One payment to them, one shipment out... I guess if this whole thing materializes I could do the shipping of individual units to each of you all, but thats obviously un-ideal in many ways

 

Lets say someone buys 20 of these at 1775.

Now lets say I have them sitting in my garage and I don't....but if I did who would buy one right now for 2,000 shipping included. Meaning you could get it within 3-5 days. Just something I have been thinking about.

Who would buy one today??

 

Yes Doc that's what we need, someone willing to buy the units up front and make a couple bucks in the process. $2k is not a bad price considering VW wants over $2,600.

If you can get it together and and place the order soon you can count me in with a deposit if needed. However I have one on back order from the dealer so you need to let me know ASAP if your going to do it or not.

ÜBERV10, no offense, but I just called Josh from OEMPLUS and he said to disregard all the e-mails he had sent to you. The prices quoted were for the RNS 510 for the jetta/golf with the rounded front. Not your fault at all. I thought it was too good to be true. He said they will not do a bulk purchase on the Touareg RNS 510, and they are $2,600 each! I was ready to just buy a bunch of them too!! I guess I will be waiting until they come down in price.

Thats unbelievable, what a ****ing waste of time! Its been such a long time coming (not to mention I'm sure I specified touareg) whatever. I mean at least we didn't get any further with the purchase.... Thanks though DOCKS!

 

Not a big deal i guess. I had an itch to spend some money too. SO I guess I'm just going to go buy a new snowmobile!
