My Ride: 2010 Volkswagen Touareg VR6 3.6L - Gas (7L65E3)
A few months ago, I started having problems opening the driver's side door (front left) from inside my 2010 Volkswagen Touareg VR6.
After several searches online, I determined the issue was most likely the "Lock Assembly," which is a notorious issue with VWs and sounds exactly like the problem I am currently experiencing with my Touareg. Sometimes, the internal door handle will open the door as normal - other times, I have to pull the handle several times and give the door a nudge to get it open.
After procuring an OEM Lock Assembly (3D1-837-015-AG) and getting a copy of the shop guide, I started the replacement process—but only to hit a brick wall halfway through the repair process. Despite several attempts, I was unable to remove the door's Lock Cylinder Housing (see below).
Any help on this (or the greater issue) is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Humantag
