I may need a new brake vacuum pump. The shop says its working intermittently although I have never heard or felt any problems with it. I really doubt its the issue with the traction control light + WARNING! BRAKE ASSIST FAILURE! WORKSHOP! message when I accelerate onto a positive incline onto the freeway but...
I am talking about the little R2D2 unit in the front of the engine bay, on the passenger side, next to the headlight retraction mechanism. Never had any strictly brake messages either.
Do I need to have a vag-com to reprogram it, or is it strictly R&R?
