Reduce number of smileys in post pages

I am using the Safari browser the view your site. Even on a fast machine, the number of default animated smiley characters that you have on the side are not only annoying, but cause my machine to slow WAY down. Personally, I would rather have some of that space available for a wider text typing area and just a few smileys.

What?? An Apple with a bug?? I hear that they are now starting to get worms and viruses too? Come, join the dark side AC. Get a PC and run Netscape like I do (now it is dead because of AOL I may have to switch to Mozilla).
