Is there supposed to be a first aid kit in the rear compartment storage area on the drivers side. I can see a molded area and a clamp that may be set up for a fire extinguisher maybe?????

The parts can be purchased at your dealer. They are not included in the US cars as it is not required by law like in Germany.
