The airconditioning emits bad smell (decaying or ozone type) at irregular interals during varuious seasns in lat two years. It disappears if I drive at high speed and comes back when I stop the car. If I stop long enough it also disappears. It comes for a few days or even weeks each year a few times.

If I use airco under 100 % internal circulation mode, the emission of bad smell stops. If I use internal ventilation with "A" mode, a bit of bad smell appears again.

The dealer checked the vehicle two or three times before and found nothing except changing air filters. But it did not work.

Does anyone encounter the same problem? Does anyone have the idea about the causes of this problem?

Thanks.

It was actually a pretty common issue with the earlier Tregs. I believe it was moisture that stayed in the vents and just went stagnant. I had it on my 04, but it cleared out after you ran it a bit. I don't know how my 2010 will be since I just got it and have no intentions on using the air until next summer. Too cold to run it now.

Any idea on how to keep the vent clean?

Thanks for your reply. Do you have any ideas on how to keep the vent clean? Any technical solution?

I did not have this in the first two years. It took place only in lat one and half year.

I asked a few other owners in China. They have no such problem. It is a shame for such a high end SUV to have this trouble.

Hi. I am also suffering from this problem. But now you solve my problem very easily. p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }Ventilation is supply to and removal of air from a space to improve the indoor air quality.
Thanks for this nice sharing.

It must be taken again and take the outer case off and then use a 50/50 mixture of Clorox bleach, spray rinse any good with the garden hose. There are chances that debris took the case and you feel bird droppings causes ammonia when moistened.
