I have a 2005 Touareg 3.2 V6. Been Looking around and there's a lot of into but maybe some experts can direct me to the correct purchase or an easy solution.

I noticed a few days ago that my steering started to become extremely difficult and figured it was probably power steering fluid being low. Went to my local advanced auto bought some hydraulic fluid and topped off the reservoir.

Next morning huge puddle under the car. Crap. Looked on here and started to think it might be the steering rack. Almost made the purchase and decided to dig a little deeper to try to find the cause.

Got under the car and realized one of the lines were leaking (saw air bubbles). So, I don't need to replaced the steering rack but also don't really feel like changing the lines. I live in an apartment complex where working on your car is denied.

If I have to change the line, so be it. But do those power steering line fix bottles that you can grab for $15 actually work. Can't drive the thing right now unless I want a workout.

If you're leaking at that spot your only resolve is going to be replacement of that line.
Putting in anything other than the correct power steering fluid can do damage to other components in the system, not to mention it won't stop a leak of that kind.
