Power seat quit working

I really can't afford to take this to a dealership but I'm a loss to fix this one. My driver's seat was all the way back and as I was bringing it forward it stopped. Fuse is good and I'm guessing that something is loose underneath but I don't have a clue how to get under it. Can't see anything loose from the back. Tried pulling the front bolts but it won't tip back with them out. Can't get the side trim off because the screw is just behind the door jamb. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated! ](*,)

Thanks,
Jeremy

Might check to see if the seat bolts are the two mounted to the floor in front of the seat platform, not the rail bolts on the seat platform. Also you need to remove the trim at the rear of the seat rails, which can be pulled aft. Good write up and video in How to Replace Battery in the DIY section.

Ok... so I got the seat up and there's not a loose connection under there. I figure it's either in the switch or the control module. Since nothing on the panel works and the VAG-COM is reading 02323 - supply voltage for control head, 007 - short to ground, I'm guessing that it's the control module. Any thoughts? Is there a way to check the module to see if it's working? I thought maybe the battery was the issue but the other seat works fine.

Great thought, except there isn't a control module under the passenger seat. Since the fault is showing that there isn't voltage getting to the control head, I'm taking it to the stealership and letting them find the short. Figure I'm going to be out an arm and a leg but at least I can't say I didn't try to find it first! Barring anyone posting a solution first, I'll post what they say it is in a couple of weeks when it gets fixed.

Dealership found a couple of crushed wires and fixed them. Still no luck so they checked and determined that the control module is out. Possibly the loss of ground when the wires crushed burnt out the unit. They want $545 for a new unit and almost $500 more to install it (even though they already had everything open to check it, they want to charge full labor). I found a used one on e-bay for $35.00. Looks like the electronics in these modules are pretty lightweight and easy to burn up but cost a small fortune to replace.

Can you share new unit catalogue number please?
Thanx.
