I have an '06 v8 as well and kept getting the coolant overheating error. I changed both temp sensors but nothing changed really, so I did the timing belt-water pump-thermostat change out on it and it works flawlessly. It takes about four hours to do and is really a very good project for an import, I think. Parts are around $200.
