Hello Folks
I received a call from the new owner of my 2013 V8 TDi yesterday
He bought the car about 4 months ago and completed his first Engine oil/ filter change a week ago
Every thing went okay but 5 days later a warning add 1 litre of oil came up
He’s sure he added correct amount and there’s no signs of oil leaking
Has anyone experienced similar situations
I’ve suggested dropping oil and measuring the volume to check
But he reckons the oil display isn’t coming up on the screen

I reckon he didn't put enough oil in it. Those sensors are pretty reliable. Every time I've had someone think they're not reading right, the oil level is just low.

Ask them how many litres of oil they added and post it here. From there others can say whether or not the correct amount was added.
With that said did the Treg burn any oil before you sold it to the new owner?

Thanks for replies the car didnt burn any oil under my ownership so we can rule that out.Ben has sent me an image of the oil level display today advising to "Add max.1,5l oil.You can drive on. and a image of the virtual dipstick showing max medium and minimum marks but no oil level. He reckons hes driven about 350km since changing oil.My advice still stands to drop the oil and measure volume .shouldn't take more than 1/2 hr

All sorted if anyone has a similar problem check the wiring to the bonnet latch Ben told me the bonnet open warning wasn’t displayed on cluster
He connected the wiring up and everything thing works as it should and no more requests for more oil
