I went out to start my 2012 Touareg tdi and i can't get in the car. I looked on you tube for solutions and im thinking the battery is dead. I'm looking on information on jumping the car. I don't see anything in the forums. Can someone help me out please?

Yes, I was able to get in the car. I tried to jump it but everything starts flashing and now the fob is stuck in the ignition. It does nothing when I try to start it. There are 5 lights on the dash that won't go out.

If the battery won't charge you will need to get the car to a VW dealer to replace the battery. How old is the battery? These batteries will just drop dead with little warning. I had it happen to me on my 2012 when the battery was 6 yrs old.

What ever happened to the car? you need to put the car on a good charger. Attach charger to the 2 terminals under the hood toward the windshield. If it won't charge up get the specs for a new battery. Use the manual to see that it is under the front seat. You'll need the right tools. Unfortunately it isn't like most cars where changing a battery takes 10 minutes.

Good that the car started, I assume you are putting in a new battery. As you know Touaregs are quirky.
I suggest suggest that you keep a jump lithium ion battery pac in the car if go off to isolated areas. I never go on trips or in the boat without it. Peace of mind after being stuck once.

@Chris Brinkworth , I have something like this in all of our vehicles. I have used mine to start three other vehicles and it was definitely impressive. No chance or need to use it on mine, but it's nice to have it. Generally the higher the amperage, the better. They loosely rate them by engine size so look for the largest one - but know that others of the same capacity will be rated larger or smaller, so take it with a grain of salt.
