I stopped in to the dealer today and asked for the firm delivery date.
Disappointed to learn that the Touareg is scheduled to get to the dealer on April 20th.
The business person attempted to string me a line of crap that thousands of VW's were sitting on a parking lot at port Halifax and had frozen in due to snow storms. This required chipping the ice around the tires to allow them to be driven on to a rail car.
Fortunately, the factory info was posted on the screen at the time and I pointed out to him that this SUV was built in Feb, and scheduled for CA port on Mar 30. So it would not be affected by the "tires frozen in the ice " scenario.
So I did snag the VIN at that time though. Now I need to figure out what to do with that.

I know you have a date already, but cars sitting in a port at Halifax is not a lie. Every European car manufacturer has a bunch of cars waiting for the ice to melt. Land Rover discovery sports were suppose to hit dealers at the beginning of April and they have been delayed to May because of this. My local vw dealer has 13 cars sold cars waiting at the port. Type it into google you will see a bunch of news stories.
