Over 400,000 Porsche Cayennes are being recalled around the globe.
The voluntary safety recall affects a total of 409,477 units around the world from model years 2011 to 2016. According to the German automaker, the recall is to inspect a pedal hinge clip as it can become dislodged from the pedal bracket. Of the affected units, 88,300 are in the U.S. and 10,370 are in Canada.
Dealerships will inspect to ensure the clip is present and reinstall it if necessary. The problem was first identified during internal inspections and has since been fixed in production. No accidents or injuries related to the recall have been reported.
Update: The Volkswagen Touareg is also impacted by the recall with approximately 391,000 units from model years 2011 to 2016.
