I have a popping sound whenever I turn the wheel. It happens mainly at slow speeds, happens when I turn left or right, and can also happen when I accelerate from a stop. The sound seems to be coming from the right side. Any ideas? Is it safe to keep driving it?

Ive had this happen on a lot of 4x4s, depending what the sound is..when turning at low speeds becauuse of the 4x4 i.e. slight jumping of the wheels sortof thing. not sure if its clear haha

But when going from a stop Ive never had that... not sure if it helps but I hope it isnt anything major, let it be in the gearing of the diffs or the tranny... :S

Car's not eve six years old, but I don' know how many miles you've put onner - or what kind of driving habits it's been subjected to. So my first thought is wheel bearing.

Thanks for the replies. Got 66k on the odometer. It may have started shortly after an alignment, but not sure as the wife had been driving it for over a week before I drove it again. Maybe she ran over something and didn't tell me! I have it scheduled to go in this coming week so we'll see what it is.

So the Treg is in the shop and I was told that the noise was the control arm bushings. Don't remember if it's the right or left. Also, they are replacing the stepper motor and the A/C condenser. All of which I had complained about on other visits. So glad I have a CPO warranty!
