Permanent off-road + mode

I have a 2020 3.0L V6 model with off-road package (air suspension) and have been wondering if there is a way to keep the car in permanent off-road + mode.

off-road + mode gives an extra 70mm of clearance but the car automatically comes off this mode above 25km/h.

I am thinking that there must be a fuse that can be removed to prevent this from happening. Grateful for any insight anyone might have!

thanks!

The suspension geometry and handling at speed is compromised by the off road mode extra height which is why the car automatically returns to normal ride height above 25 km/h. You will risk accidents due to poor handling and wear out things like the axle CV joints much quicker if you could do that. Off road mode also affects other things like the ABS and ECS settings which affects their performance at higher speeds. Given the complexity of the systems involved just pulling a fuse will not work. It may be possible to adjust the base air suispension settings so that the "normal" ride height is higher but i would not recommend it for the above reasons. If you need the extra clearance due to road conditions then your speed should be reduced in any case. If you want the extra clearance for it to be a tall "tough truck" then I would recommend you go and buy one of the many American pickups with that tall stance look

Thank you. It is not a concern over looks but rather over clearance. I am based in Dubai and would love to have the extra clearance to be able to clear dunes more easily. So in practice would not be doing speeds more than 35-40km/h. At the moment I am limited to normal off-road mode (ie around 40mm less clearance - which is good but not great in the desert).

Ok I understand a little more as you need more speed when cresting sand dunes :) and you dont want to bottom out the car when going over the crest

The "normal" ride height settings can be adjusted both via the suspension height sensor links or electronically using VCDS. Once this is adjusted then the offroad and offroad + heights will increase also. You may be able to get the off road height up to where you want it at off road + and the "normal" to be around offroad. Note selecting offroad + with these adjustments may cause other suspension issues or damage and my other issues raised above will still apply

You bought the wrong vehicle if you want to go dune jumping.

Off-road mode is strictly for traversing rough terrain at low speeds. You can raise the normal mode slightly my adjusting linkages or reprogramming values, but the geometry will be way out.

perhaps a LR is better suited for your needs?
