Passenger Heated Seat malfunction

Hi All,

I've been trying to resolve an issue with the heated seat function on my passenger seat so my wife can keep her arse warm at this chilly time of year!

The cooled seat function is working without issue, and the button for the heated seat lights up so I'm assuming that works. When I carried out a scan it showed a Right Front Heated Seat fault - electrical error in circuit - Fault code: 01854.

I've been searching through the manuals and I cannot see anything about the heated seat modules, or controllers, etc, so any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks

Richard

I was looking through the fuses for your Treg from the link below. I was curious if each seat heating element had it's own fuse but all I saw was F44 on the drivers side fascia for heated seats, nothing individually.
I think your next step is to find out what pins on the seat harness for that side are for the heating element in the seat and measure for voltage when it's turned on.
I have read where some have had the heating element in the seat go bad causing an open in the circuit.

I would think the same as far as there being two separate pieces. I'm wondering if they run in series in the circuit and only one of them is actually open. I'm thinking you could ohm them out to see if either of them or maybe if both of them are open.
Again this is if the voltage to them is present at the plug in the first place.

Your passenger heated seat has a total of 4 heating pads, regulated via a temperature sensor. They are fed power from the BCM J519, and both fused via SB20 (30A, drivers dash fuse panel). You either have a break in one of the pads, or a faulty temperature sensor. Get out your ohm meter and check for continuity through each pad. You can check at connectors 3,9,10 under the seat.

Not questioning your info, just asking a question in general.
I see fuse #22 is a 30A but not labeled as to what it is for (as per the link provided and fuse locations I have saved on my computer). Why do they label fuse # 44 as a 5A for the heated seats?
