Hi All, I have a 2016 Touareg with a panoramic sunroof that is not closing. the sunroof moves to the closed position but then retracts automatically. There doesn’t appear to be anything blocking the tracks. I’m guessing there is a home position sensor switch that is not being made? any suggestions please? Regards, Steve

Could be a few things; Pop up wind deflector not folding back down, pinch protection being activated (dried out lube), or it lost it's positioning (which you'll need VCDS to re-do).
My panoramic roof was a big pain in the butt at one point and did the same thing. There is indeed an override procedure but I believe all I did was pulled down on the closing mechanism and held it for a really long time and it forced to close. Are you sure there is no obstruction?
With mine sometimes it gets stuck halfway and I just twist the knob back and forth and it sorts it
