4eTouareg: Use a browser like Firefox or an FTp program like CoreFTP. Simply enter in the URL shown above - ftp://ftp.e-file.com.au/ Firefox will prompt you for a UserID and Password. The FTP program will do the same. Then simply download either/both the PDF and Zip file and you are all set.

ftp://e-file.com.au/ works but the username and password doesn't. I really need a handbook for a Touareg 3.2 v6 as the one I got with my car looks like someone has carefully varnished the pages together.

VW still provides print copies of owners manuals. I don't recall the exact urL but call them up and ask. They will be able to direct you to the site that allows you to purchase the manual.

thanks... I don't know why VW keeps it as a top secret file. I think the owners paid enough for the car to get the pdf for free. Nobody askes for hard copy...

I have manuals for T2 & T3 (complete pdf documents in Russian). Don't know how convert them into English version. I tried one free online service with no result :-(

For 2012 models and later, you can get the manual for free direct from VW. You just need the VIN. I just bought one for my 2004 for NZD$12.55 from dubmanuals.com. It's a pdf. Works a treat!

 

Car Manuals (Service/Repair manuals) are available from

This Erwin site works by charging a fee for access time, eg I bought 1 hour of access for 7 euros and was able to download all the service manuals (pdf) for my Touareg + the build sheet for my VIN. I was not able to find to owners manual on this site.

Alternately you can go to (Service/Repair and Owners Manuals)

These guys will sell you a PDF (~$70 US) which includes all of those service manuals able to be downloaded from the Erwin site above + includes a owners manual PDF and Build sheet for your VIN.
Just a point to note: The pdf owners manual is a bit rough about the edges

• It includes many hyperlinks to a VW site for additional reading which do not work.
• Some of the text is covered by the page header/footer

The owners manual is functional (just could be better)
and like all things VW just because its in the manual does not mean your car has that option installed .

Having purchased the above I then spent considerable time and frustration with Acrobat Writer cleaning up 700 pages of the Owners manual and creating an index such that I could search it faster. (better but not perfect)

 

Grant you should consider your improved version.
