VW set the gauge to stay on a normal temp. In reality, the temp is changing all the time, up and down, all with-in normal levels.

I have posted some about this in the past.

And it makes me wonder why we even have a temp gauge in the first place.

I had the our best local dealer ask VW tech support why. They said "customers were complaining the temperature gauge moved around to much". In other words "Dumb it down for the stupid people!" :-/

The guy at HumbleMechanic.com said the same thing about the coolant temp gauge.

Before I heard that, I just figured it was a REALLY good thermostat! LOL!

Doesn't the factory towing module do that when a brake controller is installed and hooked up?

Funny about the software temp cheat!
