Greetings, I`ve been getting a sporadic oil pressure warning when the engine is at running temp. The warning will flash briefly and then go back to the normal display. Oil level is fine and freshly changed, could it be that the pressure sensor is failing? Kurt

What temperature does the oil gauge show on the dash? Both my oil temp and radiator temp hover at 200F at normal operation. The oil level thermal sensor measures temperature. If the sensor fails the coolant temperature sensor signal is used by the ECU. When the oil sensor operates properly it sends a signal to the ECU to retard setting of the exhaust camshaft at high oil temperatures and sends signal to gauge. Suppose the sensor could be going bad or just have a faulty connector . Pretty easy to get to as it is on the front of the block on the bottom towards radiator.

Never have gotten a low oil pressure on the MFI. I am not aware of an Oil pressure sensor. There is a oil pressure pump piston. There is a service opening on the side of the block that allows the piston to be removed without messing with the pump. Perhaps this is where your problem resides. Maybe the piston or spring is faulty.

oil pressure

Pressure sensor is above the filter housing and is working, found out I had the wrong grade oil put in and had it changed to the proper grade,(5-40). So far so good, no more idiot light. Thanks for the help.
