why is there no Club Touareg app to help me find things that are covered in the owner's manual? it would be so much more convenient to have these topics more easily available to me on the move with an app. Can some developer do this for our Club Touareg?? I mean, having to flip pages in a book that's all the way in my glovebox compartment is such a drag... and since I'm a rat and can't read, it's even more difficult.

If the dullards can’t be bothered to read the operators manual, they definitely won’t be bothered to search for their issue on here.

They should be tarred, feathered, then quartered.

Or at least publicly humiliated. We should have such a section. Kinda like some businesses have walls of shame.

As a dullard, mechanical wise anyway, many of us come here with the hope of enlightenment. Only this WEnd I read thru dozens of threads about the 6 faults my vehicle threw. After all that, someone (I wish I could heap credit were credit is due) mentioned when a battery is going bad the Treg can throw all kinds of faults, often unrelated, as mine seemed. Since it was Sunday, I decided to start there. I estimated to my spouse a 20% chance this would be the issue. I live in Phoenix where the heat was unusual this summer, many >120F (49C) days but had installed a new battery only 11mo ago. Sure enough, it tested bad, and after an exchange, everything magicly improved.
This is a long winded way of saying I (and I'm sure a few others) come here for the pundits who offer info and skills that my Vag-Com can't. I appreciate that; you've saved me a bundle. Maybe you guys that help us dullards should reach around and pat yourselves on the back, since we can't.

This post isn’t about you. It’s about the people who ask the most basic of basic questions that would be very easily answered if they read their owners manual.

Questions such as:

What does this do?
What does this light mean?
How do you change the radio station?
Why am I still alive?
Etc.

You are a rat. But to answer your question I work in software dev and someone isn’t going to spend their time to develop an app unless it’s for work, for money, or a personal goal or project. Creating an app to browse the Touareg owners manual would be a simple app but it wouldn’t make much money (hence lack of motivation for dev to spend time). Most importantly you could just download the pdf and search the pages. It would be difficult to get on the App Store due to copyright from vw etc. As for club Touareg specifically this forum is owned by a mega forum corporation that would do little to no custom development for a single car / fourm.

So you agree that READING THE OWNERS MANUAL BEFORE posting a question is more efficient.

The same people who would stare at you dumbfounded and ask ”who, me?” if you called them by their full name, DOB, address, SIN/SSN.

You can get an e - manual online (for my CR treg) Digital Manual | Volkswagen

But it is only online only, you cant download it onto your device and you must enter your VIN every time you want to access it.

All it does is save you time going to your car and getting the printed version.

I have the owners manual for my '11 that I found on the net. PDF format that I can look at without entering my VIN whenever I want. I still have the physical users manual but I prefer the PDF manual on my large computer screen.
With that said this thread seems to have been made as a jab at all the members that ask for questions to be answered that their owners manual will answer if they took the time to read it.

Being that my Treg is relatively new, my search for an e-manual only turned up what I posted. There is a great advantage to the e-format for search. I suspect that in a couple of years a proper PDF will be released along with a proper workshop manual rather than just rubbish Haynes and the like.
I choose to ignore the the crap spewed out about those too lazy to read their provided printed pages. Its like talking to Millennials - find me a brick wall.
