I have broken quit sturdy alu wheels on street at potholes so I was thinking steel wheels from Transporter or Amorak and high profile tires would survive mistakes on driving offroad.
In some T offroad video was told that they installed 32" tires so I was thinking that "narrow" 235/80/17 with 31.8 height would fit

@SLEI

You say your Touareg has no rear seats. Do you have one of the commercial versions?
No Car is very basic modell ordinary Touareg and rear seat mounting points are deleted for road TAX reasons and car registered as delivery van. Tax saving over 500€ about 440 £ per year, tax is paid for diesel driving and based on total weight of vehicle. Calculated annually like this SUV: 32(total weight 100kg) x 5.5 (cents) x 365 (days) VAN: 32 x 0.9 x 365.

These guys run 265 70R 17 inch tires and do well but they also have the rear diff lock option.

I watched that before and they were quick to use lockers when I don't think it was needed. I have done some knarlier stuff than they did in my Touareg and I don't even have a rear locker. That is just my opinion based in my past experience.

Good point! One can do a lot with just good tires and ground clearance.

Wrangler ATs 245/75/16 are now under car fits nicely and with 7x16 black alus break a little bit the quit dull totally silver look with originals. At full tilt fat finger fits between tyre corner and intercooler outlet at plastic fender liner. Behaved good upto tested 140km/h 87 mph.
I have never had this high profile tyres I wonder what kind of pressure I should use at them?

Just lifted my 13 T3 2” and the 275 65 18 Falkens look great. Thought about the Mickey Thompson s but there is no way they would fit with out modifications. The Falkens are very tight!

@Timbriwn4 do you have a link for the lift by chance? I've got a 13 Treg as well and I'm looking for a lift kit and the 2" looks nice.
