I figured that I would start a dedicated thread for this since im not the only one who was interested in doing this.

Ive already recieved one set of ballasts housings and bulb from a guy on ebay. It arrived the other day and after some jb weld is going to work just fine. Consider I paid 150 shipped for it!

First off the xenon housings fit perfectly into the non xenon brackets. I got the car recoded for it today but we ran into a snag. The wiring harness for my particular car has 7 wires going out of the main harness into the housing. For the people that didnt know there are 10 pins for the xenons which equal 10 wires. So out of the secondary harness into the housing is only 7 on my car. I have to buy the new secondary harness to further my work on this mod.

Whats interesting is that there was an 05 v8 in the shop without xenons and it only had 5 wires. Go figure???

So the progress continues. I will get the harness ordered tomorrow....

wear eye protection if you're working with the gas discharge bulb, apparently gas discharge bulb have very high internal pressure, glass and high pressure just don't go well together in my books.

Turns out this project is a no go unless you replace the main wiring harness (not happening) Or you gut the headlight housing and go with a stationary xenon setup using bi xenon housings instead of the bi level oems.

Im going to do the stationary setup.

so let me get this straight? you were trying to add factory OEM HID inners, to a non-HID bucket?
and by stationary set up, you mean an HID retro Kit, correct. I dont want to have to buy factory HID's to add to my truck...

I was going to do full OEM bi xenons. Using all OEM parts. But I couldnt do it because of my wiring harness.

The only other way is to do the typical upgrade kit on the regular housings. Or gut two sets of xenon housings.

Ive since decided against it. Im going to trade or sell my car before it hits 50k miles. That way I get my extended warranty money back.
