Hello all, today I replaced my passenger side front door bass speaker .The old blown speaker looked much more robust and has a larger magnet on the back than the new one. So it was no suprice that after installation the bass was gone .
I checked the part number on the old speaker : # 7E0035411A and it was superseded by 7E0035454A (the new one I received )
What's up with that? anyone ran into this issue before?

So wait, you're eager to replace your woofer to eliminate bass output?
a. The speaker is crackling. It’s irritating, so I want to replace the speaker

b. It sounds like the OP has a different sound system as his original and revised part numbers are different than both of mine.

c. I’ll find out on my own if I can corroborate OPs observation on the 11 speaker system.

d. Curious if anyone has swapped speaker and what size screws were used to refasten.

Just an update here. I haven’t installed yet but I received the new woofer and it appears to be the same and as beefy as the original unit. I’ll take comparison pics on install. Again this is the 11 speaker fitted to most v8 Touaregs with Nav, but different I think than the system fitted to v10 Touaregs

Anyone have tips on screws to use to fasten the replacement?

Bro, why you sweating screw size so much?
I haven't taken the egg door cards off, but on most vehicles, the speakers will be held by u clips and a corresponding #8 or #10 screw, typically short, like 1/4 or 5/16 long.

They won't be some special type of fastener that you'll need. Either use uclips and a #10 or measure the hole diameter in the speaker mount and then get the largest size sheet metal screw that fits and buzz them right into the door.

Because they’re riveted in. Have to drill out. Before I pull card and drill and refasten, I just want to have right size screws on hand. So I don’t have to make trips to hardware store mid install. That’s all
