Update:

I contacted Ross-Tech for some help with the coding, and how to interpret the values.

They were extremely helpful, and provided the coding for me. After seeing their values it made much more sense to me on how coding is done, and where to find the values.

Values used 0001024 for 11 channel stereo with factory external amplifier. Cleared the codes and haven't come back, including the "open circuit" fault.

Previous post:

I have swapped my Radio to a refurbished version of the same model (screen was dead on the original).

Getting a fault on the new unit. Anyone have some info on how to code the new radio?

It's working fine, all speakers are working without any issues. 11 Channel system with OEM amplifier. 2007 Touareg T1.

It appears you didn’t copy the coding of original radio to your new radio.

Gotcha.

So best bet would be to reinstall the old radio, pull the coding, then reinstall and update the coding of the new radio?
Yes. This must ALWAYS be done when swapping modules. There’s way too many variables between vehicles to not do this. Yours is most likely currently coded for a different sound system (non-amplified perhaps).

Very helpful thank you! Just got a Ross-Tech scanner, still new to me but diving in.

Hi rather than make a new post, I'm having this same exact problem. I have a few open circuits and diag does not connect to any of the speakers. Coming from a 08 T1 to a 08 T1... Ross tech have any good articles on this? Can't find anything personally.

Why did Ross tech give you those numbers, should I just contact them and ask them to help figure out mine? 😂😂
Cheers

When I did the coding it actually tells you what each number means. Connect your VCDS and when you go into the coding it's all there. I meant to take a screenshot and do it up right, but it was cold as hell lol.

In my case I have the factory amp, so one of the numbers told the radio it's there.

If I get a chance I'll go and take some screens for you, maybe by the end of the weekend.

Ross tech is always extremely helpful, just make sure to send the full scan for them to check out.

Cheers!

Trying codes now, says out of range so gonna punch until I get something right

Check the description for the numbers on the left hand side. Should tell you what they all mean and what position to put it in.
Not entirely sure of my cars features, and I think this is where the sticker with the feature codes supposed to be?

Consider getting a 24 hour pass for Erwin VW manuals.

You can enter your VIN and pull all the specs from VW. Plus, you can go through and download every single TSB and service manual to PDF.

I've posted the pre-facelift ones here already, but I think it was about $20 for 24hrs. I spent a weekend morning downloading every single thing I could find.

I paid and downloaded the manuals, don't know if I did the VIN run thing or not ... Does it download as a PDF? Might have it in there.

Any idea on the numerical security code? 😂

Security code should come with any radio you buy, if not I'm told the dealership can pull it and get it working. OEM radio had a card in the owners manual with the code on it.

Best of luck!! Should feel great when you get it sorted out.

Got it! It would've been great, if my sound system wasn't silent for another unknown reason.... Thanks for the help though. Appreciated.
