I bought the kit from the dealer for my 2011, but sold the vehicle before installing it. Paid $398, Asking $300 OBO. Brand new. Has only been taken out of the box for pictures.

The kit includes the trailer hitch wiring harness and towing electrical module that plugs into the ECU. It provides the plug for towing, and as I understand, it also lets the ECU know when you are towing something and makes some engine and transmission adjustments.

According to the VW parts website, this kit is only used on 2011 to 2014.
