OK. This is going to be one of those "what noise is this" posts. I hate them too. My 2008 T2 V8 is relatively new to me. The other day, we had to leave the hatch tied open for the drive home from the lumberyard. While driving, there is a noise from the rear that sounds like brake pads rubbing. Not a grinding sound. Applying the brakes does not seem to affect it until nearly stopped, then goes away. Not affected by RPM's, so I'm ruling out the engine. I recently put new brake pads on it, but again, I would think that if they were rubbing lightly, the sound would go away when I started braking? The only thing I can think of is the emergency brake pads rubbing?

Thanks for all the help - Bill
